Birth of Mary of Burgundy, daughter of Charles the Bold and Isabella of Bourbon. Her mother died in 1465, but she had a very close relationship with her stepmother Margaret of York, sister of Edward IV and Richard III.
She married on 18 August 1477 Archduke Maximilian of Austria (later Emperor Maximilian I). They had three children: her successor Philip the Handsome (22 July 1478 – 25 September 1506), Margaret (10 January 1480 – 1 December 1530) and Franz (b. and d. 1481).
