Richard is a lovely man, I have met him but surely Philippa and John A-H should have been honoured too? RB was only there because of their sheer hard work and determination which they did off their own backs, Leicester Uni were commissioned to do the resulting dig.

I agree that Philippa Langley and John Ashdown-Hill equally deserved a recognition. I guess it has to do with who is nominated and who is eventually picked out of all nominations. There were three important parts in this project: the historical research (John Ashdown-Hill), the organizational talent in bringing all the various parties together (Philippa Langley) and the archaeologists, who did the actual digging. All three were equally vital to make this project such a success. It would not have been possible, if any of them had been missing.
